Spotlight

One of my favorite lighting conditions for photography is when my subject is illuminated, but the background is in the dark. This enables me to create natural black backgrounds that create eye-catching portraits the natural world. Here are some of my favorite shots of animals in a "spotlight". These are all wild animals; the birds and mammals are lit by the sun, and the insects, reptiles, amphibians and flower are lit by flash.
